The internet is growing at an astounding rate, even with the recent demise of so many dot coms. The United States is rated as the number one country in the world as being ready to take advantage of the continuing internet revolution.In 1995 there were 22,000,000 internet users in the U.S alone, and today there are 138,000,000 (up 627%). Nearly 1 billion people, about 15 percent of the world's population, will be using the Internet by 2005, (International Data Corp. found), and their use will fuel more than $5 TRILLION in Internet commerce. That represents a staggering 70 percent compound annual growth rate, when compared to Internet spending of $354 billion in 2000. Of Internet users, 73% say that they check the internet before doing business with a company for the first time, and it doesn't make any difference what kind of business it is.
