The internet
is growing at an astounding rate, even with the recent demise
of so many dot coms. The United States is rated as the number one
country in the world as being ready to take advantage of the continuing
internet revolution. In 1995 there were 22,000,000 internet users
in the U.S alone, and today there are 138,000,000 (up 627%). According
to Nielsen/NetRatings, only Sweden comes close to the United States,
where 74 percent of all Web surfers shop online each month
and 30 percent buy online. 36% of all internet traffic is in the
form of searches. In this internet age, which has just begun, all
businesses need a web site. Many of your competitors already do,
or soon will have one.
It's easy
to lose sight of the fact that Internet use is still growing at
an almost unbelievable clip worldwide, and more users means more
e-commerce transactions. Nearly 1 billion people, about 15 percent
of the world's population, will be using the Internet by 2005,
(International
Data Corp. found), and their use will fuel more than $5 TRILLION
in Internet commerce. That represents a staggering 70 percent
compound annual growth rate, when compared to Internet spending
of $354 billion in 2000.
Of Internet
users, 73% say that they check the internet before doing business
with a company for the first time, and it doesn't make any difference
what kind of business it is. That is a very powerful statement,
and cause for realistic consideration. Can you afford to miss that
kind of exposure?
Cost for
Web Site development can range widely from just a few hundred dollars
to hundreds of thousands of dollars. Many Web Site developers charge
as much as they can, with no clear parameters as to goals and methods.
Unfortunately, that leaves many business owners who would like to
have a web site, totally in the dark as to cost, plus you don't
know how well it has been done, nor how effective it is, and whether
or not it accomplishes your goals.
Save money and do it right the first time.
